A highly esteemed global trainer, human rights advocate, entrepreneur, and community activist, Dr. Mbarga has dedicated her life to serving marginalized communities, advocating for human rights, and fostering educational opportunities for women and youth.
Born and raised in Cameroon, Dr. Antoinette Carole Grace Mbarga has become an influential force in the international community, residing in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area for several decades. Her unwavering commitment to social justice, community empowerment, and global education has earned her recognition as a United Nations Global Peace Ambassador and a Certified Global Trainer at the International Internship University (IIU). She currently serves as the Deputy Continental Director for Africa at the Global Education Network (GEN) and the Country Director for Cameroon at IIU.Dr. Mbarga’s influence extends beyond advocacy, as she is a small business owner and consultant, spearheading transformative initiatives through Afiri Consulting International and The Mbarga Project. Through these platforms, she empowers individuals and organizations by providing strategic consulting services, leadership development, and community outreach programs.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Mbarga has worked tirelessly with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly Latino and African immigrants, at-risk youth, low-income families, and people with disabilities. As a community activist, she uses her social media platforms to raise awareness about pressing social issues, including domestic violence, human trafficking, and the rights of women and girls.One of her most significant contributions to global advocacy was her instrumental role in exposing racial discrimination against African immigrants fleeing the war in Ukraine. Her bold activism and relentless pursuit of justice have positioned her as a powerful voice for the voiceless in international human rights discussions.
Dr. Mbarga is a firm believer in the power of education to transform lives. In 2017, she founded the Miss Africa USA Internship Program, a pioneering initiative that promotes education for young girls, with a special focus on encouraging Black girls to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Through this initiative, she has inspired and supported countless young women in breaking barriers and achieving success in male-dominated fields.Her influence also extends to the highest levels of policy-making. As a Congressional Intern for Hon. Sheila Jackson Lee (D), she successfully organized a protest before Congress and the White House against the cancellation of the Diversity Visa Lottery, demonstrating her ability to mobilize communities and effect policy changes that benefit immigrants and minority groups.
